Our joint programme developed with ALMA, the world’s most prestigious school on “Professional Chef Training in Italian Cuisine”, has started.

According to the agreement made between ALMA, the prominent school supported by the Italian government, and MSA (WCAC), students who have graduated from their applied culinary education in Istanbul will continue their practical-application training on Italian cuisine in ALMA for a period of 3,5 months. They will then have the opportunity of work placements for the duration of 3,5 months in the best hotel and restaurants of Italy.

Our students, who have successfully completed their “Basic Cookery” training that had started in MSA, and would like to specialize in Italian Cuisine, will attend lessons at
ALMA La Scuola Internazionale di Cucina Italiana from Monday to Friday for 8 hours per day with a total of 840 hours. During the training period ALMA will provide the students with accommodation around the campus area.

All practical sessions will be conducted in Italian but lecturers will also be able to speak English if students require explanation.

3,5 months of application education - 3,5 months training period in Michelin starred restaurants

Fee – 14,000 Euros

During the period of the students’ initial training in Turkey, MSA (WCAC) will also offer the students the opportunity to receive Italian courses with a 20% discount provided by the “Italian Culture-Istanbul”, in respect to the agreement with ALMA. Thus the students will be able to learn basic Italian up to the standard level.

At the end of the 3,5-months residential training, prior to commencing the work placement period, students will be given a skills test developed by ALMA.

Students will be offered work placements after the test, and ALMA La Scuola Internazionale di Cucina Italiana will then certificate successful students as “Professional Chef of Italian Cuisine”, prior to students departing to Turkey.

With this agreement, ALMA representing a prestigious education in Italian Cuisine included also Turkey into its selective network of professional cookery, already consisting of members such as Japan, Canada, USA and Korea.

This very important development in the cookery-training of Turkey, in terms of comprehensive exchange and cross-education agreement, has provided young cooks the opportunity to receive a respectable professional diploma and training in a state-of-the-art institution of the Italian Cuisine.


Advanced Pastry Course:


Designed for MSA graduate students who want to acquire and improve the “fundamentals”of the Italian pastry with the guidance of famous pastry Chefs.

3,5 months application courses and 3,5 months training period in Michelin starred restaurants and patisseries which will conclude with a “Professional Pastry Chef” certificate. (End-term exams are compulsory)

Fee – 11,000 Euros

Italian language is required. Lessons are held in Italian.

Accommodation


The School also provides the students with accommodation in its housing or offers pre-established rates for other solutions in Colorno and Parma.

The residence accommodation consists of a living-dining room area with a full fitted kitchen, accessed via a balcony privately screened for each residence. The shower room with a wash hand basin and a full walk-in shower cubical, as well as a washing machine is within the residence. The separate drying facilities are located downstairs.


The residences which are a 10-minute walk from the school are all newly equipped. There are a range of shops around the resident area and ALMA has negotiated a student discount at some shops.

All students will receive ALMA chef uniforms and they will all be able to loan the required knives for the period of the stay.


Recipes will be provided in English as will the student handbooks outlining the rules and regulations.
