What is City & Guilds ?
There are many culinary universities in the world such as Stratford, Johnson and Wales and private culinary schools like C.I.A, Le Gordon Bleu and The French Culinary Institute.
Then what is City & Guilds and what sets it apart from the others?City & Guilds was founded in 1878 upon the instructions of Queen Victoria of England and has been under the auspices of the Royalty of England since its founding. It is the leading institution among those that issue internationally acknowledged proficiency certificates and provide education in the culinary arts, due to its experience in the field of training and education that dates back over a hundred years.
This is a non-profit organization. Its chairman is Prince Phillip, the duke of Edinborough and the spouse of the Queen of England.
The aim of City & Guilds has never been to advertise, promote, sell or market its activities by bringing its name to the forefront. The quality of its education lies with the fact that it maintains the same standards throughout the world.
